The Indiana high school football state tournament kicks off this Friday, bringing with it a lot of excitement—and the potential for some blowouts. After covering high school football in Indiana for 37 years, I have certainly seen my share of both. It’s important to note that I am not in favor of the blind draw, nor do I support allowing all teams to enter the state tournament. You can call me whatever you want, but that’s how I feel. Indiana is one of the few states that uses a ping pong ball to determine the sectional brackets and also one of the few that allows every team to participate. To me, this seems outdated. However, I doubt most people care about my opinion, but I had to express it… once again. Now, let’s look ahead to the games scheduled for this Friday. Which matchup could turn out to be the best one according to the point spread published by Bill Harrell? That remains to be seen.
