DERRICK HENRY RUSHES FOR 4 TD’S, 216 YARDS AS RAVENS OUTSLUG PACKERS
Derrick Henry rushed for season highs of 216 yards and four touchdowns and the Baltimore Ravens remained alive in the AFC North with a 41-24 victory over the host Green Bay Packers on Saturday night.
Henry set an NFL record with his seventh career 200-yard game, breaking a tie with O.J. Simpson and Adrian Peterson. Henry, who carried the ball a career-high 36 times, also moved into fourth place on the all-time rushing touchdowns list with 122. He passed Marcus Allen (120).
The Ravens (8-8) play at Pittsburgh (9-6) in Week 18 and the contest will be for the AFC North title if the Steelers lose to the host Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Green Bay (9-6-1) has lost three straight games and was eliminated from the NFC North chase as the Chicago Bears clinched the division.
Tyler Huntley completed 16 of 20 passes for 107 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 60 yards on eight carries for Baltimore. He started in place of Lamar Jackson (back), who sat out after being injured in last weekend’s loss to the New England Patriots.
Malik Willis completed 18 of 21 passes for 288 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 60 yards and two scores on nine attempts for Green Bay. Willis departed with a shoulder injury midway through the fourth quarter and didn’t return.
Willis started in place of Jordan Love (concussion), who sat out after being hurt in last week’s overtime loss against the Bears.
Green Bay defensive tackle Jordon Riley (Achilles) and cornerback Kamal Hadden (ankle) were both carted off the field.
The Packers trailed by 13 at halftime before getting back into the game on a 24-yard field goal by Brandon McManus and Willis’ 11-yard run.
The Ravens responded with Huntley’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Zay Flowers with 10:10 remaining.
Willis reinjured his passing shoulder while making a throw — he wasn’t hit by anybody — and requested play be stopped with 7:53 left.
Two plays later, Bo Melton failed to catch Clayton Tune’s pass and Baltimore’s Marlon Humphrey picked it off and returned it 6 yards to the Ravens’ 32 with 6:56 remaining.
Baltimore put the game away with Henry’s 25-yard run with 1:56 remaining. The 216 rushing yards are the fourth-most of Henry’s career.
Henry had three touchdown runs in the first half as the Ravens held a 27-14 lead.
Baltimore began the game with a 13-play, 75-yard drive that chewed 8:05 off the clock and concluded with Henry scoring from three yards out.
Green Bay answered with two long pass plays — a 40-yarder to Romeo Doubs and a 39-yard scoring pass to Christian Watson to tie the score.
The Ravens responded with another long drive as Henry scored from the 1 to cap a 13-play, 74-yard drive that took 7:31.
Tyler Loop tacked on field goals of 22 and 34 yards to give Baltimore a 20-7 lead with 3:36 left in the first half.
Willis scored on a 22-yard run to bring Green Bay within six with 1:24 left, but Henry responded with a 3-yard run to pass Allen on the TD list and give Baltimore a 13-point halftime advantage.
The Ravens held the ball for 40:16, compared to 19:44 for the Packers.
TEXANS CLINCH PLAYOFF BERTH BY BEATING CHARGERS FOR 8TH STRAIGHT WIN
C.J. Stroud threw two long touchdown passes and the Houston Texans clinched a playoff berth with a 20-16 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday afternoon at Inglewood, Calif.
Stroud connected with Jayden Higgins on a 75-yard touchdown pass and Jaylin Noel on a 43-yard scoring pass in the first six minutes as Houston (11-5) came out strong to lay the groundwork for its eighth straight win. Derek Barnett had two of the Texans’ five sacks.
Stroud completed 16 of 28 passes for 244 yards and two interceptions for the Texans, who remain alive in the AFC South but are assured of at least a wild-card berth. The Jacksonville Jaguars (11-4) lead the division.
Justin Herbert completed 21 of 32 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Chargers (11-5), who were eliminated from the AFC West race and will begin the playoffs on the road. The loss allowed the Denver Broncos (13-3) to clinch the division heading into their matchup with Los Angeles next week.
Omarion Hampton rushed for a touchdown and Oronde Gadsden II caught one for Los Angeles.
The Chargers were down 14 when they began their comeback attempt with a 1-yard touchdown pass from Herbert to Gadsden with 13 seconds left in the third quarter.
Ka’imi Fairbairn booted a 44-yard field goal to give the Texans a 20-10 advantage with 6:29 remaining.
Los Angeles pulled within four when Hampton scored from the 5 with 3:37 remaining. But Cameron Dicker was wide left on the extra point to prevent the Chargers from making it a field-goal game.
Houston then got two first downs while running out the clock.
Stroud’s two long early touchdown passes caught the Los Angeles defense napping.
On the game’s third offensive play, Higgins sped past the Chargers’ secondary and hauled in Stroud’s throw at the Los Angeles 35 and finished off the 75-yard scoring pass.
Stroud struck again on Houston’s next possession, connecting with Noel on a 43-yard play to make it 14-0 with 9:17 left in the first quarter.
Los Angeles finally got on the board when Dicker booted a 27-yard field goal with 6:10 left in the half.
The highly-accurate Dicker could have trimmed the deficit by three more points but he missed wide to the right from 32 yards with 10 seconds remaining in the half. It marked the first time he missed from under 40 yards during four NFL seasons.
Houston’s lead increased to 17-3 on Fairbairn’s 41-yard field goal with 6:04 left in the third quarter.

Turnovers were an issue for the Pacers in the first period. They committed six of them, and those turnovers led to six Miami points.
Siakam returned to close out the first quarter despite his early foul trouble, and concluded the frame on a tear for the Blue and Gold. He notched 11 points in the quarter, and connected on five of his six shots.
Indiana trailed by just a point after one, 29-28.

Siakam’s outpouring of scoring led the Pacers to a halftime lead, 60-59.
Andrew Nembhard scored just two points in the opening half, but recorded 10 assists.
The Pacers shot 51 percent from the floor in the first half, including 38 percent from deep. They committed 12 turnovers, but limited Miami to just 13 points off those turnovers.
Wiggins hit another 3-pointer early in the third that forced a quick Pacers timeout, now trailing, 64-60. Indiana found more energy following that break, and battled Miami for much of the third period.
Nembhard found a groove with his scoring in the third quarter, and his 13 points in the frame aided Indiana into a 34-point quarter. Bennedict Mathurin contributed another 10 points in the quarter, too.
Indiana’s offense was firing, but its defense had trouble. The Heat scored 39 points in the third frame.
Jaquez hit a last-second shot over a Pacers double-team that gave the Heat a four-point lead and momentum heading into the final period of play, 98-94.
That shot snowballed into an 11-0 run by Miami, and the Pacers trailed 105-98 by the 10 minute mark of the final quarter. By the halfway mark of the fourth, the deficit was 14. Indiana didn’t have enough for a comeback on Saturday, and fell to the Heat, 142-116.
