In a Big East clash marred by a second-half brawl that led to six ejections, Dylan Darling scored 18 of his season-high 23 points in the second half to lead the Red Storm (20-5, 13-1) over the host Friars (11-15, 4-11).
With Providence clinging to a 40-39 edge with 14:25 to play, the Friars’ Duncan Powell clotheslined former Providence standout Bryce Hopkins as he went up for a breakaway layup. As Hopkins got up off the floor and stood up to Powell, players and coaches flew off both benches to try to restore order.
After a video review, Providence’s Powell and Jaylin Sellers were ejected along with Dillon Mitchell, Kelvin Odih, Ruben Prey and Lefteris Liotopoulos for St. John’s – the latter three for leaving the Red Storm’s bench.
Zuby Ejiofor scored 14 points for St. John’s while Oziyah Sellers added 11 points and Hopkins had nine points and nine rebounds. Stefan Vaaks notched 20 points, Ryan Mela scored 14 and Jaylin Sellers added 13 for Providence, which has lost six of its last eight.

Auburn played without leading scorer Keyshawn Hall (20.7 points per game), who has been benched indefinitely for disciplinary reasons, according to coach Steven Pearl.
No. 22 BYU 90, Colorado 86 (OT)
Robert Wright III set a new career high with 39 points to lead the Cougars to an overtime win against the Buffaloes in Provo, Utah.
Wright made 12 of 16 field goal attempts and all four 3-point attempts to lead short-handed BYU (19-6, 7-5 Big 12). AJ Dybantsa had a double-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Second-leading scorer Richie Saunders went down 45 seconds into the game, left the court with an apparent leg injury and did not return. BYU coach Kevin Young had no postgame update on Saunders.
Isaiah Johnson led Colorado (14-12, 4-9) with 27 points. Barrington Hargress contributed 20 points and Bangot Dak added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Buffaloes, who have lost two straight games.
No. 24 Louisville 82, Baylor 71
Mikel Brown Jr. scored 29 points to lead the Cardinals past the Bears in a nonconference showdown in Fort Worth, Texas.
The freshman guard followed up his 45-point performance in Monday’s win over NC State by notching his seventh 20-point game of the season. He made 8 of 14 shots, including 4 of 5 from beyond the 3-point arc. He also dished out six assists and posted a season-high five steals as he helped the Cardinals (19-6) dig out of a first-half hole.
Baylor (13-12) used a 16-2 run in a less than five-minute span to take a 32-25 lead with 3:37 left in the first half after a Michael Rataj jumper. However, that was the Bears’ last bucket in the first half as they missed their last six shots. That enabled a Brown trey with 16 seconds left before halftime to tie the game at 34-all.

ANTHONY KIM’S COMEBACK COMPLETE WITH STUNNING LIV GOLF WIN AT ADELAIDE
Anthony Kim added a stunning-yet-true chapter to his storybook return to professional golf by winning LIV Golf Adelaide on Sunday.
The 40-year-old American came from five strokes back after three rounds with an emphatic three-shot victory after his bogey-free round of 9-under 63 at The Grange Golf Club.
“I really don’t know what to say right now,” said Kim, who has been open and honest about his past struggles and how he got sober. “It’s been overwhelming. I’m never not going to fight for my family. God gave me a talent and I was able to produce some good golf today. I knew it was coming. Nobody else has to believe in me but me. For anybody who’s struggling, you can get through anything.”
The build-up to Sunday focused on Jon Rahm of Spain and American Bryson DeChambeau, co-leaders at 19 under after three rounds and arguably LIV Golf’s biggest stars. Kim, at 14 under, was somewhere out of the frame even though he was in third place.
The current stars were basically left in his dust, as Kim carded birdies at Nos. 4, 5, 7 and 9, then a run from Nos. 12-15 and on the par-4 No. 17 as an exclamation point to his first professional win in nearly 16 years since the 2010 Shell Houston Open on the PGA Tour.
Rahm shot 1-under 71 for finish three strokes back at 20 under for his second consecutive second-place finish. His unremarkable round featured birdies at Nos. 4 and 16 — both par-4 holes — and a bogey at the par-4 No. 8.
DeChambeau posted a 2-over 74 to fall to a tie for third with England’s Tyrrell Hatton (67 on Sunday) and Peter Uihlein (68) of the United States.
DeChambeau encountered trouble on the front nine with bogeys at Nos. 2, 3, 6 and 7. He birdied the first two holes of the back nine and made par on the rest.
Kim’s bogey-free effort — which tied the course record — followed rounds of 67, 67 and 68 with a total of three bogeys and one eagle in the third round at the par-5 No. 9. He also collected the $4 million prize for first place.
His tournament performance is all the more impressive because of his journey to be in this position, which was his first start as a member of 4Aces GC.
Kim joined Dustin Johnson’s LIV Golf team before the second event of the 2026 season, replacing Patrick Reed on a full-time basis.
The one-time rising star, who turned pro in 2006, returned from a 12-year hiatus in 2024 and played the past two seasons on this tour as a wild card. However, he was relegated after the 2025 season and had to go through the Promotions event, where he made the cut on the number before finishing third to regain his place in the league.
But it wasn’t until Reed announced his intention to return to the PGA Tour that a spot on a team finally opened up for Kim. It wasn’t an automatic yes for Kim, who said he was drawn to the 4Aces because he likes Johnson and fellow new teammates Thomas Pieters and LIV newcomer Thomas Detry.
A three-time winner across six seasons on the PGA Tour in his 20s, Kim had Achilles tendon surgery in 2012 and has been open about his rehab from drug and alcohol addiction during his hiatus from professional golf.
Kim failed to finish better than 36th and placed 50th or worse in five of 11 LIV Golf events in 2024. He played in 13 events last year, with a T25 in Dallas and a T29 in Miami his only finishes better than T44.
Kim wound up in the relegation zone, and it appeared his LIV Golf days could be numbered. But he rebounded to earn a wild-card spot in the Promotions event and then was signed to 4Aces after opening the season with a T22 in Riyadh last week.
In addition to his T22 last week, Kim closed out 2025 with a T5 at the PIF Saudi International. He has risen from 4,221st in the Official World Golf Ranking two years ago to No. 847, and that climb can continue with LIV players now receiving world rankings points for top-10 finishes. The win Sunday will boost Kim that much more up the rankings.
Ripper GC claimed the team title at 55 under after a 15 under on Sunday. Lucas Herbert (69) tied for third individually at 16 under and team captain Cameron Smith (70) tied for eighth.
Rahm’s Legion XIII placed second at 53 under after 8 under on the day, and 4Aces GC, boosted by Kim’s winning effort, finished third at 52 under.

NOTRE DAME HOCKEY
IRISH BATTLE BACK TO DEFEAT MINNESOTA SATURDAY
NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame hockey team battled back Saturday night to top the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 3-2, behind a late third period goal by Danny Nelson. The Irish scored two unanswered goals to storm back and clinch the victory after trailing the contest, 2-1, halfway through the third.
After the Irish seemed to dominate possession early with a series of shots narrowly missing the net, it was the Gophers who struck first again when a shot from the slot beat Nicholas Kempf glove side in the Irish crease. Despite trailing 1-0 after the Minnesota tally at 6:21 of the first, the Irish continued to pressure the Gophers’ end as Henry Nelson ripped a shot on net from the point just 30 seconds later. However, his shot was denied by Luca Di Pasquo in the Minnesota net to keep it a 1-0 contest.
A collision in the Irish crease left Kempf slow to get up but play continued as the Irish looked to clear the zone without a whistle to stop play. The Gophers regained possession deep in their end but the Irish had managed to give their netminder enough time to regain his position and settle back into the net halfway through the first.
A rebound attempt from Sutter Muzzatti at 14:57, after Jimmy Jurcev’s initial shot rang wide, sent the game to its second media timeout of the night with the Irish still down by one.
The Gophers’ goal was the difference maker through the first 20 minutes of play despite the Irish posting seven shots on goal in the opening frame.
The second period stayed relatively quiet until a delayed penalty on the Irish led to a scrum at the next whistle.
Notre Dame evened the tally at 14:22 of the second period as Sutter Muzzatti and Cole Knuble connected shorthanded to make it a 1-1 game.
The score would hold until a last minute goal by the Gophers gave them the 2-1 edge at 19:09 of the second. The Irish challenged the goal for offsides but after a lengthy review the goal stood and the Irish were trailing by a goal once more.
The Irish penalty kill unit was tasked once more before the end of the second stanza after a cross-checking call went against the home team with 38 seconds remaining.
Entering the third, the Irish saw 1:22 left on the late second period infraction. The Irish allowed just two shots on goal during the remainder of the kill and returned to full strength with 18:38 to play in regulation.
At the 8:23 mark of the third, Notre Dame saw its first powerplay action of the night after a tripping call against the Gophers. The team’s top powerplay unit managed a series of chances in their 99 second shift but Muzzatti’s shot with 21 seconds left froze the puck and the second unit came onto the ice.
Cole Brown net the equalizer just 14 seconds later to draw the teams even at 2-2 with 9:43 to play in regulation and the score would hold as time wound down on the period and a second-straight overtime session with the Gophers loomed.
At the 19:09 mark, captain Danny Nelson’s dump towards the net found the back of the net as Brennan Ali provided a screen on the Minnesota netminder for the go-ahead tally with. The Gophers challenged the play for a potential offsides but the goal was upheld and Minnesota opted to pull their netminder with 51 seconds left to play.
In the waning seconds, and with an extra Gopher attacker on the ice, the Irish jumped in front of four shots deep in their zone to keep Kempf untested in the crease as they hung on for the 3-2 victory.
GOALS
Sutter Muzzatti and Cole Knuble connected on a shorthanded tally Saturday night to get the Irish on the board partway through the second period. Jaedon Kerr picked off a Minnesota skater and fed a pass up to Muzzatti who created a one-on-one chance the opposite way up the ice. With the defender on his tail, Muzzatti centered a pass to Knuble who buried his shot in the slot to even the contest at 14:22 of the second stanza.
The lone Irish powerplay opportunity of the night came at 8:23 of the third period after a tripping call against the Gophers. After the first special teams unit peppered the Gophers net in shots during their 99 second shift, the second unit hopped the boards for the next faceoff with 21 seconds left on the man-advantage. Cole Brown buried a one-timer from the far circle to knot things up with 9:44 to play in regulation.
In the final minute of regulation, Danny Nelson sent a puck towards the Gophers’ net where Brennan Ali stood as a screen on the goaltender. The puck trickled past the right skate of Luca Di Pasquo in the crease for the 3-2 tally at 19:09 of the frame.
KEY STATS
