INDIANA WOMEN’S SOCCER: HOOSIERS FALL 0-1 ON THE ROAD

SAINT LOUIS, Mo.  –  Indiana women’s soccer fell 1-0 to Saint Louis in their first road match of the season. This is the first loss of the year, moving the cream and crimson to 2-1.

KEY MOMENTS

The Billikens started the pressure early. Two of their shots were off target while graduate goalkeeper Sally Rainey made her first of five saves in the fourth minute of action.

Indiana fought back as senior forward Marisa Grzesiak took her first shot attempt in the eighth minute but was blocked.

The defenses lead the way the rest of the first half as both teams went into the break tied at 0-0.

The Hoosiers opened the second half with an on-target shot from Grzesiak and another shot attempt from sophomore defender Haden Vlcek.

Saint Louis would go up 1-0 when Audrey Smith found the back of the net in the 78th minute. Caroline Chier and Eva Schreiber assisted on the goal.

NOTABLE

Rainey made five saves in the game.

UP NEXT

The Hoosiers will stay on the road as they will play Bellarmine on Sunday, Aug. 31st. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
