2025 INDIANA SRN COLLEGE FOOTBALL PRE-SEASON TOP 25 (1 through 10)

It’s only the July 4th holiday and yet it’s never too early to start thinking about the upcoming college football season. So, to help you celebrate this independence day, here’s our pre-season top 25, today 1-10.

  1. TEXAS. New quarterback? Kind of. Arch Manning played behind Quinn Ewers for basically two seasons, but now has full control of Steve Sarkisian’s offense. Manning may be the biggest hyped player going into the season. There doesn’t appear to be many weaknesses on this team. A week 1 showdown at Ohio State will answer any questions about the Longhorns.
  2. PENN STATE. Fans may be getting a little impatient with Head Coach James Franklin. They want a national championship and they want it this season. A returning QB and an upgrade in the receiving corps will help. The running attack will be solid and the defense will be elite. Anything short of a title will be disappointing.
  3. OHIO STATE. The defending national champs may have a tough time matching last seasons run. The Buckeyes lost 14 players to the NFL, and have 2 new coordinators. Don’t worry too much because they still have a very good QB and perhaps the best WR in college football.
  4. GEORGIA. Coach Kirby Smart has several questions heading into the 2025 season. QB Gunner Stockton gained valuable experience in the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame and there will be new targets on the outside from the transfer portal. The defense is also in transition after losing key players at all three levels.
  5. CLEMSON. The Tigers are the heavy favorite to win the ACC in 2025. Coach Dabo Sweeney returned to the CFP after a three-year absence and another title run isn’t out of the question. Cade Klubnik developed into an elite QB in 2024 and has big play receivers to throw to. Former IU Coach Tom Allen takes over as the DC after one season at Penn State.
  6. NOTRE DAME. A trip to the national championship game may elevate the Fighting Irish once again. An unproven QB will be a huge hurdle to overcome. A strong running attack will take the pressure off QB C.J. Carr and his 5-star hype. The defense has only five returning starters.
  7. LSU. Coach Brian Kelly is entering his 4th season and like Penn State coach James Franklin, LSU fans are expecting a national championship. Kelly has a lot of talent returning thanks to the school spending millions to retain several players. The Tigers will have plenty of talent at receiver and the OL. LSU also landed several impact players on the DL and secondary.
  8. ALABAMA. The Tide want more than 9 wins, they want a return to national prominence. Coach Kalen DeBoer too the necessary steps to retain key players, dive into the portal, and recruit some of the top high school players. The QB position may be a question going into fall camp, but the receiving corps and the offensive line will be strong.
  9. OREGON. The number one seed in last year’s playoff returns only six starters so retooling was necessary in the off-season. New QB Dante Moore will direct the offense after sitting behind Dillion Gabriel. Several players Oregon picked up in the portal will have to help immediately.
  10. MIAMI FL. The Hurricanes had a huge offseason with a great recruiting class, portal success, and several key returning players from the 2024 season. The biggest pick-up was QB Carson Beck from Georgia. Beck was injured in the SEC title game, but is expected to be ready by game one. With biggest question mark is at WR, so the running game and offensive line will need to step up early.

NEXT TIME 11-20.
